Neill Blomkamp directs epic new BMW Short Film ‘The Escape’
 

BMW was a pioneer in making short films for the Internet. Back in the early 2000s they launched “The Hire:” a series of web-sized movies that used the talents of famous directors, actors and celebrities to showcase their expansive model lineup (watch one of them here).

Anchored by Clive Owen in his role as “The Driver” these advertainment specials grossed in excess of 10-million views. Quite a feat considering the digital landscape back then. They’ve since earned a cult following amongst the world’s automotive cool kids.

Now some 15-years after the fact BMW and Owen are back with a follow-up called “The Escape.” Although the recipe is pretty much the same the result is nothing but awesome. Especially considering that the man behind what will no doubt be the first of many new BMW short films is none other than South African star, Neill Blomkamp.
