Another week another facelift. This time the Lexus IS saloon received a quick nip/tuck to bring it up to date in time for the holiday season. And we think is looks pretty damn dashing in an overly aggressive Japanese kind of way. Here’s a quick pictorial highlighting what’s changed.
1: A new front bumper
Always a good place to start. Lexus has made the IS look much angrier by bolting on an all-new front apron that features a more exaggerated spindle grille plus deeper side air intakes. The bonnet has apparently also been resculpted to look more angular, more masculine.
2: LED Headlamps
LED headlamps are now standard, to some agree, on all models across the IS range. E and EX grade models have a single LED low/high beam headlamp and bulb-type turn-signal lamp. The F Sport has a three-lamp low-beam system and separate LED high-beam lamps as well as LED signal lamps. Got it? Good.
3: New alloy wheels
E and EX models now sport fresh new 17-inch alloy wheels. Not much more to say about this, really.
4: A new rear bumper
No, the party isn’t just up front. To balance things out Lexus also sourced a new rear apron that incorporates more pronounced LED taillights plus all-new rectangular-styled chrome exhaust tips.
5: Bigger, brighter multimedia
Lexus knows that the population is growing increasingly techcentric. So to keep as all happy the multimedia display screen has been increased in size from seven to 10.3-inches (EX and F Sport grades). A new high-resolution monitor provides a larger and clearer image of the multimedia system’s various functions. – Thomas Falkiner
