Aston Martin comes off second-best to tree

A car meeting a tree is never a pleasant union. Particularly when it involves a high-powered sports car. Unfortunately this scenario played out on Sunday evening (4 February 2018) when an Aston Martin slammed into said arboreal hazard at the intersection of Maxwell Drive and Van Der Bijl Road, Sunninghill, Johannesburg. And, going on the photographs, at some speed too.

According to Netcare 911, paramedics arrived on the scene and attended to two patients – a 34 year old female and a 39 year old male. The female occupant sustained severe injuries and the male occupant mild to moderate injuries. Both were stabilised before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

Reports from the scene allege that the driver lost control of his car, crashing into a tree but the exact circumstances surrounding the accident was not yet known. Local authorities were on scene to conduct an investigation. – Thomas Falkiner (Pics: Netcare 911)
