Further to the Takata airbag recall earlier this year, Honda will recall a small number of local Jazz (2004) and Brio (2012-2014) models to replace the driver’s airbag module.
According to a statement from Honda SA, the driver’s airbag may deploy with excessive pressure during an accident which could result in the rupture of the airbag inflator canister.
Should this happen, the possibility exists that small fragments might enter the passenger compartment potentially causing injury. No injuries or incidents related to this recall have been reported, the statement said.
Honda SA said that 481 Jazz models and 536 Brio models would be recalled. Owners will be contacted and repairs are set to begin in the second week of December. Customer queries can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact 031 000 0473 to verify if your vehicle is affected.
